Crop It

If you saw on my Instagram story the other day, I found this $7 mustard denim jacket at Goodwill and decided to hack it into a similar jacket I really wanted from Urban Outfitters. However, this BDG version is $79, so I was so happy to find a much cheaper alternative. All I had to do was hack off half of the bottom and it was good to go! I paired it with a simple black tank top and these gorgeous green satin shorts (similar).

As of lately, I have had quite a difficult time shopping for clothes. As I grew older, I started spending less and less on clothes because I got more frugal as time passed. That is why I love going thrifting. If you look hard enough and maybe with a little DIY, you can find something similar to the piece you were eying in the store for a fraction of the price. I essentially saved myself $72 by patiently waiting and not purchasing that BDG jacket although I really wanted it. It is definitely a lesson to be learned!

  1. I love what you've done with the jacket, girl! First off, the color combination is one of my favorites, black and yellow. It has such an edgy vibe, which is further enhanced by the actual pieces you've combined in this outfit. I love the mix of textures with the denim and satin. I'm the same way, I often look for ways I can save on clothing, especially when eyeing designer or more expensive pieces, there's almost always an affordable option or like you said, a way to make it work with a simple DIY! Thanks for sharing and I hope you have a great start to your week!

  2. totally feeling you with the clothes mutilation! I do the same thing!! I love going into goodwill, or crossroads, and just finding that perfect piece of clothing for so much cheaper. I mean, I'm wearing a michael kors sweater right now, that I found at crossroads for $8. LOVE this outfit BTW– especially that yellow color on you!

  3. I love this color! Thrifting is honestly one of my favorite things to do. It's a treasure hunt. I always feel more attached to something that I bought after an hunt and for a good deal as opposed to just buying something off the rack. I guess it feels like you are adding a little of your own history to a piece.

  4. Spot on with this write-up, I really suppose this website wants way more consideration. I’ll probably be once more to read rather more, thanks for that info.

  5. You are totally correct, I would really like to find out new information on this issue! I am as well interested by omega xl now since I think it is quite cool now. Thanks.
