Fall Wardrobe Staple: Black Ankle Boots

Come fall and winter time, 80% of the time you can find me wearing a pair of black ankle boots. I always gravitate towards these when it is a bit chilly because they seamlessly go with any outfit. Personally, I do prefer boots with a bit of a heel because I am vertically challenged and I’ll take any bit of help to get some extra height. Currently, I have been gravitating more towards boots with an interesting texture or finish – just something to make them stand out from your average black boot. When shopping for a pair, I would look for details that give the shoe more uniqueness. For instance, in the above image, there’s boots with silver hoop hardware, shiny patent leather, faux-snake skin, platform heel, contrasting colored laces, and other embellishments. By opting for a more interesting footwear, you are able to elevate your entire outfit and it automatically makes it more fashion-forward.

In the outfit above, I am wearing a flow asymmetrical black tank top, a silk blouse, cargo pants, and a statement silver necklace from TotalKnockOut. For footwear, I went for these patent leather heeled boots with a silver buckle and pointed toe. I think these add such a different element to my already all-black, monochromatic outfit. I snagged these boots a couple of weeks ago from H&M for only $15. I was actually eyeing them all throughout last year’s F/W season, but never went through and purchased them. It was fate though because I managed to get them on clearance and can now rock them for this upcoming season. Patience is a virtue!

Balance

Forever 21 trench coat, Thrifted long-sleeve top, H&M pants, Ami Clubwear sock boots

Finding the perfect, harmonious balance is one of the biggest challenges I am facing right now. The month of February just began, but I am already feeling the pressure of everything I need to accomplish. As you know, it is my last semester of university and on top of that I have 2 internships and a part-time job. I cherish quality over quantity and would never want to sacrifice something by not putting in my 110% into it. However, if I fail to post 3 times a week like I usually do, I apologize! It is going to be harder to find time to shoot looks, but just know I am trying my best!

There are some exciting things coming up in February as well though! Next weekend, I will be in New York City from February 11-12 for NYFW. I am staying in the Chelsea area, so if you are interested in linking up, let ya girl know! The weekend after that, I am heading to Pittsburgh for a long weekend to see my boyfriend for V-Day. Lots of events coming up!

The reason I brought up balance though was because of this gorgeous, thrifted shirt I purchased from Depop quite some time ago. I love the embroidered koi fish featured on the back and for some reason they just remind me of harmony, peace, and balance. Similar to the yin yang. So wearing this shirt has reminded me to stay grounded and continue trying my best to be productive.

Ultralight Beam

Last week, Pennsylvania finally received its’ first snowfall of the year and despite the fact that I am pretty much over the bitter cold, I do have to say the snow does make everything look beautiful outside. Plus, the sunlight bounces off the snow beautifully and creates some gorgeous lighting for photos. I joked on my instagram that these photos are me pretending that I am not freezing to death, but that is seriously how I felt. Blogger probs, am I right?

Anyway, I whipped out the Pablo merch and thought the font color went perfectly with this faux-fur jacket. For bottoms, I went with black Calvin Klein denim and my knee-high boots.

Happy eve of Christmas eve! Have you all finished your holiday preparations? Shopping last minute during Christmas gives me anxiety so I made sure to get all my errands done early!

I have been loving flared pants lately and these are no exception. I find that flared pants give the illusion of looking taller than you really are so I have been playing with different silhouettes. I love these particular pants because of their scalloped edge. It lets me show off my gorgeous new boots that I cannot seem to take off! I also paired it with my favorite Supreme t-shirt and thrifted jacket.

Accessory Necessity

Hey, lovelies! Spring is next month, but before I jump ahead of myself and start getting too excited about the coming of warmer weather, I wanted to give ode to one of my favorite winter accessories. This last month’s low temperatures seemed to have pierced into my body despite the numerous layers I wore and let me tell you, being cold makes me very grumpy. I do my best to stay bundled up, but have noticed the world of a difference wearing a beanie makes when trekking out into the cold. I find when you insulate your head, your body instantly warms up. Beanies have saved my ass so many times this season and I just wanted to take a moment to shout them out!

My favorite one, which you all have seen by now, is my Supreme beanie my boyfriend bought me for Christmas. I have definitely gravitated towards this one the most this season.

Another favorite of mine is this classic beanie I got from Gap 2 years ago. I love the cable knit and the cute, faux-fur pompom! It’s a classic winter beanie and you can’t go wrong with a neutral color either.

I think beanies are the perfect casual accessory to give some character to any outfit. Which is why to be quite honest, this is just half of my beanie collection. I seriously had a problem awhile back and hoarded them like crazy. it just goes to show how much I adore them! What was your winter accessory necessity this year?
